Mending the breaks is no easy feat. Maybe the best thing to do is tie up those loose ends. But not with the intent of tying a knot to mark the end, but instead with the thought of remembering the sinewy strings that are there in the first place. Tie them back together, stretch them out. Practice makes perfect.
It’s important to remember although they appear to be broken to the naked eye, they are not. There are simply microtears inhibiting the nerves and tricking you into thinking all connection is gone. But heartstrings don’t break on their own.
However, it is important to note, you cannot suddenly pluck at the strands, then they will surely break apart and become severed beyond repair. You have to look at them, assess the current state. Do it well. Don’t assume anything. Can it ever revert back to the rope it once was? No. But if there is enough holding those strands together, you must carefully proceed. Technically, the more they break the stronger they get. But now is not the time to test that theory. You know what’s best. Don’t be afraid of practice. Sometimes it really is the thought that counts.
